Doors Burst Open for Spring’s 2009 Yellow Auckland Home Show

The sun is shining and the 2009 Yellow Auckland Home Show (September 9th to 13th at the ASB Showgrounds) has officially opened in what’s shaping up to be one of the most optimistic trade shows in recent times. Over 50,000 people are expected to walk through the doors over the five days with day one getting off to a great start.

With a theme of ‘A Different Way of Living’ visitors to the show can expect to see some of the world’s rarest plants, extraordinary designer feature rooms, gallery displays of extraordinary homes from around the world; as well as all the suppliers, exhibitors, and advice on home renovation, bathroom and kitchen design, landscaping and more.

There are over 600 exhibitors involved this year, with some familiar faces and a host of new ones. Information is one of the most important products on display this year with Home Design Seminars, Property Know how seminars, workshops in the Green Urban Living feature, as well as live demonstrations from the Fisher & Paykel World Cooking theatre.

Event organiser dmg world media’s Jenny Murfitt says, “for people wanting to renovate their homes and improve their home lifestyle, the Yellow Auckland Home Show is a great place to see what’s available, meet the people who can make it happen and leave with some great up-to-date info and ideas.”

The interactive theme extends to the ‘Ask the Experts’ consultation, even edible gardens and a seed planting corner for the kids from Patch from Scratch.

And there are even bigger prizes this year as well; National Kitchen and Bathroom Association (NKBA) are giving away a bathroom package valued at $50,000, there’s a  Property Know How prize package with heat pumps, personal colour consultations and much more valued at $21,000, as well as a heap of others; bathroom packages, spa pools, Bose speakers and more.

Warm weather, spring time, and a new found optimism in the property market guarantees this is one of the biggest and most memorable Home Shows yet. The event organizers are very pleased with how it’s all come together, says Jenny Murfitt, “there’s a real enthusiasm with exhibitors this year and the venue is packed and buzzing already on day one.”
